Chapter No: 78 – Soorah: An Naba’ (The Period of Upraising)
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-Directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
Every Reformist assured his community that if a community followed His guidelines of revelation, it would see a massive renaissance. In the same way, the Reformist Muhammad Nabi assured his community and the people look forward to that uprising.
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ١
78:1. They ask each other when the uprising will come.
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ٢
78:2. They ask about that glorious revival that is going to come.
ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَ٣
78:3. Everyone has his own opinion on this.
كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ٤
78:4. But their difference of opinion will not last long. Soon the fact will come to the light.
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ٥
78:5. We reiterate that they will find it out soon.
Think for a moment about the functioning of the universe. They all work beautifully, don't they? Nothing happens based on sudden twists anywhere. Similarly, this renaissance will also gradually grow.
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا٦
78:6. Look at the earth where you live. Although it revolves fast in the sky, it is designed to move and work as you wish.
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا٧
78:7. Look at the mountains on this earth. The earth is carved as if it had been nailed down to hold its gravity.
Just like that this renaissance will grow systematically. After learning about the creation of the universe and its functions, notice how human life takes place.
وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا٨
78:8. Think about how We have created among you male and female in pairs, to reproduce and fulfill the needs of one another
وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا٩
78:9. Do you notice that the sleep is activated so that the daytime fatigue is removed and the next day is refreshed?
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا١٠
78:10. Notice also that We have made the night suitable for this.
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗا١١
78:11. This allows you to earn a living during the day
وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗا١٢
78:12. The skies above your head are vast. Have you noticed how stars and planets work?
وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗا١٣
78:13. Notice the glowing sun. It can provide light and heat at the same time. Did you notice that?
وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗا١٤
78:14. Also, watch out for the moving clouds and raindrops falling from them.
لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗا١٥
78:15. Have you noticed that grains and plants grow on the earth with that rainwater?
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًا١٦
78:16. Is that all? Did you notice the dense oases with branches spread out?
If you look at the creations of the universe and their functions, you will find that they all function in a systematic way as per time frame. And whatever you sow in this earth, you will reap. i.e. paddy for paddy - wheat to wheat. Seasons are set for sowing and seed cropping. Its yield can be obtained accordingly. In the same way, whatever doctrine you nurture among the people in your society, so will be the activities of the people. So you are now exchanging views on when that great renaissance will come.
إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗا١٧
78:17. That too will occur at the appointed time. Will certainly occur. So take it as the "harvest day" of the fruits of your labor.
Once the seeds are sown in the earth, they fight with various forces in the soil. The seeds are supported by wind, sun, and sky. It then wins the fight and sprouts as its symbol. After that, the plant becomes a tree and acquires the ability to yield fruits. As it is, when sowing pure guidance among the people according to Rabbu’s guidance, one will have to fight with many opposing forces. After that, the garden of Islam will blossom for the society and it will bring good fruits and happiness. So we have to fight against evil forces to establish Dharma. Allah and the universal forces which He created, will help in such struggles. That renaissance will take place only after many struggles. Will have to meet on the battlefield if necessary.
يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗا١٨
78:18. So, the trumpet of war will be blown. You must march to the field. As a result,
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗا١٩
78:19. The imperialism of the wealthy who hold high positions will begin to weaken.
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًا٢٠
78:20. The power of those who have mounted wealth will be shaken. That money power will all go like a mirage.
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗا٢١
78:21. A tormenting hell awaits such people.
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مََٔابٗا٢٢
78:22. Such will be the condition of those who acted against the guidance.
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗا٢٣
78:23. There will be no way to come out of that pain. Will be in it forever.
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًا٢٤
78:24. No pleasure can be enjoyed in it. They won’t be given any drinks to overcome thirst.
إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗا٢٥
78:25. Instead, for thirst-quenching, boiling water, and abominable drink will only be given (38:57).
جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًا٢٦
78:26. All this is not because of the hatred on them. Rather, they are the result of the evil deeds they have done.
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗا٢٧
78:27. So, what were the evil deeds they did? It is a failure to consider the consequences of everyone's actions.
وَكَذَّبُواْ بَِٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗا٢٨
78:28. They disregarded the rules of "The ultimate consequences of human actions" prescribed by Allah and ridiculed them. So they continued to indulge in evil deeds.
Every action they take never fades away from themselves or their society. They have to face the consequences. Because
وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗا٢٩
78:29. The record of human deeds is the one that has been established by Rabbu. This has been explained many times, but they did not care about it at all.
فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًا٣٠
78:30. Thus, the effects established by Rabbu will never change for anyone. So, they have to suffer the consequences of their evil deeds. Its pains will be increasing day by day.
إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا٣١
78:31. On the contrary, the social structure of those who have accepted His guidelines and acted creatively will be different. They will succeed in their domain.
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗا٣٢
78:32. Plenty of gardens and orchards will grow that provide lasting happiness.
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗا٣٣
78:33. Chaste women who have not been touched by any man. Husband and wife live in an affectionate bond with consensus (56:37). That kind of high-cultured society.
وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗا٣٤
78:34. Healthy delicious soft drinks and sparkling bowls mark the pace of their economic growth.
لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّٰبٗا٣٥
78:35. There will be no vain talk, action, or lying and will work only in the interests of society as a whole. They will never hear of it happening anywhere.
جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا٣٦
78:36. These are the rewards prescribed by Rabbu for all of you, that is, good returns for good deeds.
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا٣٧
78:37. Do you know from whom all these pleasures come? They are from the One Rabbu, the Creator and Sustainer of all things in the galaxies and the earth. No one has any authority to interfere with the legal provisions set by Him or to suggest a change in them. That is, the laws of practice are the commands of the One Rabbu Ar-Rahman.
Communities that do not have or do not follow His guidance will live in submission to their desires. So, instead of exploring the natural creations, the natural forces of the universe, inventing new inventions, and using them creatively for human development according to His guidance, they seek their destruction by misusing them. Take nuclear power, for example. But societies that accept and follow His guidance will explore the forces of nature in the universe, use them only creatively, and develop to the fullest.
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗا٣٨
78:38. Thus, His guidance which is referred to as "Rooh" and the universal natural forces called "Malaika" will work in unison. Because at such times, no one will have the power to speak against the word of Rabbu, who is infinitely generous. Only well-versed scholars will be allowed to speak by His principles. Not only that, but they will always speak honestly. So there will never be disagreements or conflicts in that society.
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مََٔابًا٣٩
78:39. Do not think that all these are imaginary narrations. All of this is going to happen. No one should have any doubts about this. So still not overdue. Those who seek to create such a society should strive for the beautiful projects of Allah who created them as their ideal.
إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢا٤٠
78:40. Let them know that they too will soon face destruction if they do not come forward to do so. Let them meet the consequences of the deeds done to this day. Unable to bear to face such torments, he would lament, "Shouldn't we as the human being have been crushed into the ground instead of bearing it?" That will be their hue and cry!
