۞بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
PREFACE: The first five verses of this chapter do not mention the country where the events took place. Taking the matter after the sixth verse, one can guess that it was an incident of plundering robbers in a society that lived as barbarians at a time when there was no Qur’anic rule. The lesson to be learned from this, however, is that man must focus on the matter of defense.
100:1وَٱلۡعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبۡحٗا١
100:1. Look at the gangsters. When people are sleeping soundly, notice how the horses come too fast and attack.
100:2فَٱلۡمُورِيَٰتِ قَدۡحٗا٢
100:2. Look at the sparks in the swing caused by the run of the horses.
100:3فَٱلۡمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبۡحٗا٣
100:3. It is unknown where they come from. But when people are fast asleep in the early hours, notice that their sleep is disturbed and everything is ruined.
100:4فَأَثَرۡنَ بِهِۦ نَقۡعٗا٤
100:4. The fast march of those horses leaves so much dust that nothing is visible.
100:5فَوَسَطۡنَ بِهِۦ جَمۡعًا٥
100:5. Thus they enter a well-sleeping town and create a great storm.
what is the outcome of such incidents?
100:6إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٞ٦
100:6. The lust for wealth m akes the man mad and he does not think about what he is doing. He deserts humanity and crumbles to a very low grade of humanity.
Thus, he behaves worse than the beast. Instead of working for the blessings of Rabbu with the energies given to him and giving to others, he is plundering the livelihoods earned by the labor of others. Amassing wealth in this way is an act of ungratefulness which is exactly opposite to the law of Rabbu!
100:7وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٞ٧
100:7. Not only that, the funny thing is that instead of being ashamed and remorseful for the wrongdoings, he is proud that all he does is heroic deeds and continues to go to an extreme level in amassing such wealth.
He will teach a thousand justifications for what it does and he would say that he does not plunder because of his lust for wealth. On the contrary, its purpose is to do good to the people. But hidden truths in his mind will be exposed as per the law of the consequences of human action ordained by Rabbu.
100:8وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَشَدِيدٌ٨
100:8. That is why he drowns in that greed until he dies. (102: 1-2)
100:9۞أَفَلَا يَعۡلَمُ إِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِي ٱلۡقُبُورِ٩
100:9. Has he failed to notice that the law of "the consequences of human action" that Rabbu has ordained will also bring out the hidden truths?
100:10وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ١٠
100:10. Rabbu has the supreme power to know the things that penetrate the mind of man.
100:11إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّخَبِيرُۢ١١
100:11. Thus, at the time of the appearance of the "effects of human actions," all that they indirectly acted on will be exposed.
Note: Allah knows the truth about everything they do. He also informs them - that the rich will show a thousand reasons that the purpose of amassing wealth is not by lust over them. Many would argue that such a collection is a good thing. Their actions betray the fact that all these are just words. But when man seeks to live based on equality, it will show to the world the true intentions of such people.
If you study the human activities of the past or the present, you will know that robbery is an incident that has been going on for a long time. As civilization grows and its form of action changes, the world is not free from plundering. The current practical world is a testament to this. As long as man does not come forward to live based on the guidance of Rabbu that all are equal, such evils will continue to take place in some form or the other.
