Chapter: 105 - Soorah - Al Feelu - Elephant Force
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
PREFACE: As tricks and tactics are important in the political world, war tactics are also important. These tactics will yield better results than the army force. Today's modern wars are fought on the same basis. In that sense, this chapter speaks. According to historical records, Abraha, the leader of the army, secretly planned to uproot the Ka’aba. For this, he came with a large army of elephants and stalled on the backside of the hill next to the Ka’aba. His conspiracy plan was to look for the moment, launch a surprise attack and destroy it.
But what he saw was a huge failure. Let’s see how that became possible. The ruling class, which runs the imperialist regime, will always rely on the great military forces at its disposal and think that no one can shake itself. But
أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ١
105:1. Ask them, “Have you not seen how your Rabbu transformed the situation of those elephant warriors?”
أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ٢
105:2. Have you not seen how their secret plots were thwarted by the law of your Rabbu?
The elephant warriors had secretly gathered at the backside of the mountain ascent Ka’aba to launch a surprise attack.
وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ٣
105:3. A flock of hawks and carnivores flew over the place where the troops were staying, as per the law of Rabbu. Thus the secret conspiracy plan was exposed to you.
Usually, during wartime or when hunting animals, carnivores naturally fly in flocks to the upper level, knowing fully well that they would get food. With that, you could guess that something unusual was happening beyond the mountain.
تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ٤
105:4. Then you climbed up the mountain at night and threw black stones at them.
As the elephants were attacked, they ran here and there. As a result, the soldiers who were staying there were trampled underfoot by elephants. * Thus
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۢ٥
105:5. The hawks got the perfect food like the chewed pulp to eat easily.
Postscript:The power of preplanning and war tactics are paramount important. From this chapter, it is evident that airstrikes can inflict greater damage on the enemy than ground attacks. Permission is also given to fight for the protection of humanity and human rights. (See 22:39) That too, to fight unless compelled. They must also give the opposition time to correct themselves, declare war, and then formally fight. Leaving it and conspiring against one another, causing chaos in the world, massacring innocent people, and destroying places of worship are never allowed in Islam. (See 22:40) This is exactly what this chapter emphasizes.
Many have translated that the birds have thrown stones from the sky. The word “Tharmeehim” refers to the second person - “you”. - does not refer to Third Person - birds. Also, the words وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ مَّنضُودٖ "Amtharna Alaiha Hijarathim min Sijjeel" have been used for the baked stones dropped from the sky on the community of Reformist Looth Nabi (See 11:82, 7:84) That is, We rained down stones on them. Therefore, the explanatory text which we have given to “Tharmeehim” is relevant. When Allah showered stones on the community of Reformist Looth, the question also arose as to why the birds should be sent to save the world-famous Ka'bathullah. So this is also proof that the explanatory text which we have given is correct.
