بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-Directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ١
83:1. Unjustly amassing wealth, trade, capitalism and the social systems that emerge from it will suffer.
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ٢
83:2. The traders with such a tendency, get the full amount from people.
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ٣
83:3. But they are getting worse in size and weight when they sell it.
Similarly, workers in factories are not paid properly. They set the minimum wage and crush them so that human resources do not grow. In this way, they will be able to increase their wealth.
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ٤
83:4. Did they think that they could live like this forever?
Do they think that changes will never happen in the country? No. There will surely be a devastation to such people of capitalistic mentality and the abuse of power that crushes human resources. In this way, a new regime will emerge that will remove the obstacles in the way of progress and protect the interests of all sections of the people.
لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ٥
83:5. It will be a period of massive upheaval.
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ٦
83:6. Thus, all will be united to rule justly under the guidance of Allah, the One and Only, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe (39:69, 45: 36-37, 84: 6-7, 89:22).
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٖ٧
83:7. Then, the situation of those who have disrupted human unity and created inequality will worsen. It is the social system that they have created for themselves that will bring them destruction.
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ٨
83:8. You are very curious to know what the catastrophic situation will look like. Who else but Allah can explain the facts about it?
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ٩
83:9. Punishment will be given by arresting them in prison.
وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ١٠
83:10. These torments will come only to those who transgress the rules of Allah and work against it.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ١١
83:11. That is the evil consequences of their evil deeds.
So, who will commit all kinds of evil deeds and transgressions? Those who are not afraid of the consequences will do so. Some actions only affect themselves. Some actions will be in their favor. But they stand in the way of the development of the social system.
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ١٢
83:12. They could do such evil deeds only when there is no one to knock them. It is their misconception that there is no one to listen to them.
إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ١٣
83:13. Even if the historical evidence of the ancestors who lived in the wrong way and suffered disasters is submitted to them, they say that they are just myths. They think it has nothing to do with them.
كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ١٤
83:14. That is not the real thing. The tendency of their wrongdoing causes them to lose the mindset to think and accept anything.
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ١٥
83:15. When the rule of Rabbu is formed, they will be deprived of all privileges.
So, all those who were in the thrones of wealth will suffer. This condition of theirs will continue in this world and the Hereafter.
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ١٦
83:16. A society that lives based on selfishness without safeguarding the welfare of the people as a whole will fall into the abyss of hell.
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ١٧
83:17. Then, it will be known to them that this is the hell which they have been refusing to this day.
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ١٨
83:18. On the contrary, the situation of the “Abrars” who strive for the betterment of society as a whole will be better. They will all move forward.
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ١٩
83:19. Who can explain the “Illi-Yoons” better than Rabbu?
كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ٢٠
83:20. These are the higher status that one gets as per the framed laws of Rabbu, "Benefits of Good Deeds." The good deeds they do will bear witness to it.
يَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ٢١
83:21. Those “Illi-Yoons” cultivate the attributes of Allah as much as they can be closer to Allah’s regime. They will enjoy the benefits themselves. (See explanation 2: 138) These are the so-called "Abrars."
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ٢٢
83:22. These "Abrars" - those who have superior virtues - are dignified - who have all the resources of their life and live better.
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ٢٣
83:23. Sitting on the throne of good governance will take good care of all social affairs.
تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ٢٤
83:24. The prosperous life available to them will be a reflection of social progress. They will all look gorgeous.
يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخۡتُومٍ٢٥
83:25. Healthy Tonics are available for drinking in glass bottles with government seals.
خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكٞۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ٢٦
83:26. Those seals will also be made of fragrant musk. All of these will help for better physical growth, health, and energy.
It will bring great benefits to those who are interested in using them creatively for social benefit. But if they are just for enjoyment, they will only give temporary benefits. Problems will arise in the future life. So only those who want to take the lead in the race for progress will get the best out of it. (57:20) (102: 1)
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِيمٍ٢٧
83:27. And those juices are mixed with delicious desserts. They strengthen health and relieve nervousness.
عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ٢٨
83:28. Those fruit juices will be consumed by the pious who are eager to cultivate the qualities of Allah in themselves.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضۡحَكُونَ٢٩
83:29. The crowd, which finds pleasure in the labor of others, laughs mockingly at the followers of guidance who strive to establish the rule of Allah. They laugh because they think they are engaged in work that does not benefit them.
وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُونَ٣٠
83:30. And when these activists go by their side, they turn a blind eye to one another as if they were fools.
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ٣١
83:31. Then they meet their comrades but boast about what they have done.
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ٣٢
83:32. Whenever they see the activists, they say, "They have strayed from that path."
وَمَآ أُرۡسِلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ٣٣
83:33. But they forget one thing. Are they the officers who were sent to monitor these activists?
They may not understand the programs of these activists at an early stage. So everything that activists do may seem foolish to them. But
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُونَ٣٤
83:34. When this regime grows and bears full fruit, all their mockery will stop. The moment will come when activists will look at them and make fun of them.
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ٣٥
83:35. And the activists will see what happens to those who mock them as they sit on the throne.
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ٣٦
83:36. This misery is nothing but the result of their deeds. The truth is that what he did in the morning will be reaped in the afternoon. This is the basis for the formation of heaven and hell.
