بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Whatever program we initiate in our life, will be as per the Pre-directed Guidelines of Allah, the Most Benevolent and the Most Merciful. (6:162)
From time to time the reformist warns the people that a society that acts according to its own will without accepting His guidance will face destruction. People often ask him when that destruction will come. (See 29:54) Is it a happy thing that something catastrophic is happening?
أَتَىٰٓ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوهُۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ١
16:1. Symptoms of ill-fated happening are approaching them fast, according to the rules prescribed by Allah. None of you have to rush for it. They are immersed in the impression that the imaginary deities which they have created have the power to save them from destruction. But the power of Allah is beyond their imagination.
And some people think that system of revelation is something that is created by one's self-knowledge. (See 6:93) Not so. These are the plans of Allah, the Almighty, the Creator, and the Sustainer of the universe.
يُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦٓ
16:2. The system of revelation called “Wahi” is in accordance with the Schemes of Allah and is bestowed to one who is worth receiving it, through the Universal forces (see 2:97).
أَنۡ أَنذِرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ٢
The purpose of these revelations is to make clear to the people that there is no authority other than Allah in the whole of the universes, and that man must obey His guidance. Secondly, these are meant to warn of the dire consequences of not following His guidelines.
So, Allah, the One and Only Supreme Power is not a god as described in the human imagination.
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ تَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ٣
16:3. All these guidelines are given by Allah, the Creator of the universe and the earth for creative purposes. Allah’s grand projects are beyond human imagination.
Think for a moment about the projects of the Supreme Power. You will learn for yourself how each of them is created to give creative benefits. Take human creation first.
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطۡفَةٖ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٞ مُّبِينٞ٤
16:4. Notice that every baby born into this world originates from a nucleus-sized organ drop, passing through many stages. Yet man does not know the greatness of powers behind this.
It is because of Allah's creative plan that the drop of semen passes through many stages and is raised as a child. It is no exaggeration to say that there is one world under function in every human body. Who can create like this? Is that all?
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَاۖ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا دِفۡءٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ٥
16:5. Think also about the functions of cattle created by Allah. Notice how they are all designed to be useful. Its skins are useful to you to make pleasant warm clothes to wear in winter. Not only this, you get sumptuous meats from them to eat.
وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسۡرَحُونَ٦
16:6. Not only this but also when they go to graze in the morning, come back in the evening and notice how cool and beautiful they are to look at.
وَتَحۡمِلُ أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٖ لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ٧
16:7. Also, note that they greatly help you to carry loads that you cannot carry. Is not Allah the Most Merciful who makes such excellent arrangements for you?
وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ وَٱلۡبِغَالَ وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةٗۚ وَيَخۡلُقُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ٨
16:8. And horses, mules, and donkeys are created for you to ride on and travel. Aren’t these also decorating your life? Thus, Allah is the One who has the power to create many things that you do not know.
Take a look at the lifestyle of these creatures. You will realize that they all have been created for constructive purposes and they function on the basis of adoption nature. It was Allah who laid down the rules as to how each of them should live. None of them can ever act against that rule. But as far as man is concerned, he is not compelled to act on the basis of adapting nature’s system like other creatures. Because man has been given complete freedom.
وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصۡدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنۡهَا جَآئِرٞۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ٩
16:9. It is the plan of Allah to inform guidelines through the system of revelations called “Vahi”. So, accepting or rejecting His guidance is a matter left to the choice of man. (See 18:29) Had Allah willed to create man to act in the same direction as other living beings, He could have created him in the same way.
Having clarified to you about living beings in this world, let us know about the system of Allah operating in the outer world.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗۖ لَّكُم مِّنۡهُ شَرَابٞ وَمِنۡهُ شَجَرٞ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ١٠
16:10. It rains from the sky according to the rules set by Allah. You also get drinking water from it. With that rainwater, the herbage, trees, and plants grow. All of these are meant as foods for livestock.
يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرۡعَ وَٱلزَّيۡتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلۡأَعۡنَٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ١١
16:11. With that rainwater, you cultivate and grow crops like olive trees, juniper trees, and all kinds of fruits. So, Allah is the One who feeds them. These are the arrangements made under the law of the administration of Allah! Do you think that there is someone who has such power other than Allah? People who think and act will find many authentic proofs for Allah's natural creations.
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتُۢ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ١٢
16:12. And Allah is the One who made the night and the day alternate and made the sun, the moon, the stars, and the planets to support your life. These are also authentic proofs for knowledgeable people who study the natural creations of Allah.
That is, if day remains as day or night remains static, then no living thing could survive. For food production, solar energy is needed. Also, with the cooling of the night, the tree and plants get the power to produce their fruit (Starch). If it is a day without night, everything will be destroyed without enduring the heat.
And the gravitational pull of the moon is one of the most important factors for the survival of life on earth. Even if the gap between the Earth and the Moon were slightly widened or slightly closer, the creatures here would become fragmented. It is because these things function intact according to the framed laws of Allah that man can live better in this world.
It is also said that the sun, the moon, and the planets have been created to your benefit. Only if we know about their functions, can we know how to use them. It is therefore the duty of every government to establish scientific laboratories and develop students into the best scholars - alims (see: 35:27-28) who carry out aerial research. Because it has been said that many of authentic proofs are available only to intelligent people.
وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَذَّكَّرُونَ١٣
16:13. Then descend from the sky and focus on the side of the earth where you live. Notice how beautifully the colorful plant vines, living creatures, and birds have been created according to the provisions of Allah. These are also authentic proofs for the people who study the natural creations of Allah.
That is to say, all the vines, creatures, and birds that grow on the same water have different colors and characteristics. Consider that they also serve as food and medicinal herbs for man. So, believers are those who study these creations and strive for the well-being of the people. (See: 3 190 & 191). Those who study them are called Scientists. (See 35:27-28)
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ لِتَأۡكُلُواْ مِنۡهُ لَحۡمٗا طَرِيّٗا وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُواْ مِنۡهُ حِلۡيَةٗ تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ١٤
16:14. After researching the fertility of the land, come to the Aquatic Resources side. It is Allah Who created the Seas and Oceans for your various benefits. It is Allah Who has arranged for you to go through deep oceanography, to get delicious food like fish and beautiful ornaments like pearls and corals to adorn you. Not only that but also arranged for you to make mountain-sized ships breaking through the oceanic waters. With them, you can go to different parts of the world and easily carry the livelihoods such as food items and merchandise. In this way, they greatly help to meet the needs of all the people of the world. So, all these programs were chalked out for creative purposes. Use them creatively so that you too can benefit the people of the world. This is the true meaning of “Being thankful” to Allah.
وَأَلۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمۡ وَأَنۡهَٰرٗا وَسُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ١٥
16:15. Also, explore the earth where you live. Although it travels fast in the sky, it has been created in such a way that you can act with ease without any disturbance. He also created large mountains to preserve the cosmic balance. There are various benefits for you by using them. The rivers that flow from them also help to set up travel routes. Don’t you have all the facilities with such arrangements made by Allah?
وَعَلَٰمَٰتٖۚ وَبِٱلنَّجۡمِ هُمۡ يَهۡتَدُونَ١٦
16:16. And with the twinkling stars at night, you know the right path to travel in the sea and desert during the night. These are also the symbols of Allah's natural creations.
So, if you explore all the natural creations of the universe and use them creatively for the benefit of the people, his present life and future sustainable life will be better. So, if there is no tendency of exploring these in society then darkness will surround their life. Thus, there will arise economic problems and they would keep begging the dead saints and imaginary gods to solve them.
أَفَمَن يَخۡلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخۡلُقُۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ١٧
16:17. Do the idols or the deities worshiped by people have the power to create anything like Allah? Won't they think about this?
وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ١٨
16:18. Not only that, but if you think about the creations and blessings of Allah, you can never predict His infinite might. (See 18:109) Is there any other Supreme Power besides Allah, the Almighty? So, for your safe life, what other way can you get, if you leave the provisions of the Merciful Allah?
وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعۡلِنُونَ١٩
16:19. Allah is fully aware of how far your capabilities have developed according to His rules and which remain undeveloped in him.
Thus, Allah created the universe and the earth, created innumerable living beings in it, created man as the highest of those living beings, and gave him all the powers of the ‘Spirit’ to rule and maintain world affairs. Therefore,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخۡلُقُونَ شَيۡٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ٢٠
16:20. Those who do not follow the guidance of Allah and give up living better will keep begging for help from those who are not at all qualified to create anything. They are the creation of Allah. How can the inanimate help the living?
أَمۡوَٰتٌ غَيۡرُ أَحۡيَآءٖۖ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبۡعَثُونَ٢١
16:21. The dead are the dead ones. As they say, they are not alive. Not only that but they themselves do not know when their accountability will take place.
While this is their position, how can they know what your needs are? How can they meet your needs even if you inform them?
إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٞ وَهُم مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ٢٢
16:22. So remember. Allah, the Almighty is the Only One, who rules over the universe. With all this evidence, the hearts of those who do not accept the guidance of Allah do not think about the future sustainable benefits but seek to live only for temporary pleasures. In addition, their actions reflect guilt and arrogance.
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡتَكۡبِرِينَ٢٣
16:23. Those who act in this way, hide what is in their hearts and pretend to be good. But as far as Allah is concerned, whether they reveal or hide in their hearts is the same. Nothing can be hidden to Allah. And the support of Allah will never be available to those who act arrogantly.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ٢٤
16:24. Thus, if you ask them to pay attention to the guidance that has been revealed, they say that they are nothing but the fables of the ancients.
In this way, they too go astray and also lead the people in the wrong direction. People also follow them blindly. Thus, in the course of time, the moral values of the community in which they live will deteriorate. Therefore.
لِيَحۡمِلُوٓاْ أَوۡزَارَهُمۡ كَامِلَةٗ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَمِنۡ أَوۡزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٍۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ٢٥
16:25. They will also have to bear the burden of the sinful deeds they have committed, at times when the perverse consequences will appear. Not only that, but these people, unknowingly, will have to bear the burden of sins of those whom they have misled. Alas! How bad are the sinful burdens of others thus borne!
قَدۡ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ٢٦
16:26. Their plots to block the formation of a social system under the guidance of Allah are not new. Those who lived before them also did various efforts in this way. But Allah's plans have shaken the very foundation of their intrigues. The social structure which they had raised collapsed to the ground, about which they had not even imagined. And various afflictions came upon them beyond their comprehension.
ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ وَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تُشَٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمۡۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ إِنَّ ٱلۡخِزۡيَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ٢٧
16:27. The impacts of evil deeds that befell them will befall these people too. As the effects of their actions become apparent, so will be their sufferings. Then, “Where are the imaginary deities you have ever worshiped? Didn't they come to save you?” will be the question before them. (See also:6:22). Saying from the learned scholars will be, “Surely all these afflictions befall those who reject the guidance of Allah and live in the state of mindlessness.”
That is, when they act unjustly, they continue to do so without realizing that their activities would degrade humanity. So, such a society will eventually reach the gate of destruction called “Death”.
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ فَأَلۡقَوُاْ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُ مِن سُوٓءِۢۚ بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ٢٨
16:28. Unable to bear the death pains caused by the universal forces of nature, they will cry begging, “We have lived in peace! What else sins have we committed?”. The reply they get will be “What you are saying is very wrong. The law of “the ultimate result of human deeds” prescribed by Allah has monitored all your activities.”
فَٱدۡخُلُوٓاْ أَبۡوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ فَلَبِئۡسَ مَثۡوَى ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرِينَ٢٩
16:29. “So you have to enter the gate of miserable life. There will be no way to escape from it. This will be the torment for those who went astray and showed arrogance in the way of Allah.”
۞وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡۚ قَالُواْ خَيۡرٗاۗ لِّلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٞۚ وَلَدَارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ خَيۡرٞۚ وَلَنِعۡمَ دَارُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ٣٠
16:30. The sufferers will ask the followers of guidance of Allah, “What has been bestowed upon you by your Rabbu?” They will respond, “All for good”. That is, for those who do beautiful deeds according to the guidance of Allah, their present life will be pleasant. The true meaning of the word they say is that life after death will even be better.
جَنَّٰتُ عَدۡنٖ يَدۡخُلُونَهَا تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ لَهُمۡ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ٣١
16:31. This means that they will have heavenly life with generous economic facilities. Everything they want will be available without any hassle. All of these are rewards in this world for those who act according to His guidance.
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ٣٢
16:32. When these people die as per the framed laws of Allah, the universal forces will take them to Paradise, as if saying, “Enter into the life of everlasting happiness and peace.” The call will be, “These are the results of the good works you have done in the world.”
هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَ أَمۡرُ رَبِّكَۚ
16:33. Even after knowing this fact, are they in anticipation of the universal forces to come and inflict torment on them? Or do they expect the torments of Allah to come directly?
كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ٣٣
The societies that preceded them thought that they could take care of themselves if torments come upon them and so did not give up their wrongdoings. Thus, they inflicted pain upon themselves, and Allah never did any unjust upon them.
فَأَصَابَهُمۡ سَئَِّاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ٣٤
16:34 So the consequences of their evil deeds came upon them. And they were surrounded by those destructions about which they were mocking at.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَيۡءٖ نَّحۡنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَيۡءٖۚ
16:35. And those who worship idols say, “Had Allah not willed, we and our forefathers would never have worshiped these idols. And we won’t have considered it necessary to ban some of the food items.” That is, they say that everything they do is according to the Will of Allah.
كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ فَهَلۡ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ٣٥
This is not only the speeches of these people. Those who lived before them also spoke like this and tried to justify their deeds. And they say that everything will happen according to the rules (see 6:149, 36:47, 43:20). How can anyone do justice to those who say that Allah is responsible for their actions? Therefore, the duty of the Reformist ends with giving guidance to such people.
وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّٰغُوتَۖ
16:36. Thus, We did send Messengers to every community to guide them to obey the laws of Allah alone. They were also advised not to submit themselves to their whims.
فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ حَقَّتۡ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ
There were some people in society who have accepted the advice of Allah and led a pleasant life. There were those who rejected them, went astray, and faced destruction.
فَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ٣٦
Visit around the world to find out what happened to the societies that acted against Our guidance and how they faced destruction.
إِن تَحۡرِصۡ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي مَن يُضِلُّۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ٣٧
16:37. O, Reformist! You have the longing ambition that all the people be guided and be safe from disaster. But Allah does not forcibly guide those who go astray. And when that catastrophe comes, there will be no one to help such people.
As the man is given FREE WILL, he has no compulsion like other creatures. And it is the will of Allah and His constant action that He should give the man the guidance which distinguishes between good and evil, as well as to give him intellect to think and that he should accept His guidance on his own accord.
وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَا يَبۡعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُۚ بَلَىٰ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡهِ حَقّٗا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ٣٨
16:38. Now they swear by Allah, “No lifeless community will ever get enlightened life.” Not so. It is the assurance given by Allah that any community which accepts His guidance and acts accordingly, will prosper again and be qualified to get enlightened life. The pace of that growth will depend on their rapid actions. This promise of Allah will never change. However, most people are not aware of this.
لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي يَخۡتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ كَٰذِبِينَ٣٩
16:39. A society that thus accepts His guidance will progress better and bear witness to the truth of Allah's assurance. The arguments of those who claimed the guidance to be false will become clear.
إِنَّمَا قَوۡلُنَا لِشَيۡءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدۡنَٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ٤٠
16:40. Because these are all fixed action plans that have already been established. If Allah decides to create anything, His action plan will develop and complete by passing through many stages. There is no difficulty for Allah in it. If Allah wills anything to “Be So”, it will evolve over framed time. (See:32:5, 70:4)
Be it any society in the world. Under this plan, it is a determined project that if anyone/society accepts His guidance and performs better, it will gradually progress and lead a heavenly life. Those who accept this law even today will be subjected to various forms of persecution by their opponents. So, they may have to leave their hometowns and take refuge somewhere.
وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِي ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗۖ
16:41. But all the atrocities committed by the opposing team are temporary. Those having been persecuted by enemies, who emigrate from their home towns to fulfill the plans of Allah, will have the most beautiful shelters in this world, according to Allah's framed laws.
وَلَأَجۡرُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ٤١
Not only that, but their future lives will be safe with all the resources. If they know these facts, the temporary miseries that befall them will not be felt severe. (See also 2: 155)
ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ٤٢
16:42. Such people will persevere and work tirelessly to carry out the plans of Allah, no matter what adversity may befall them. And they will act in accordance with Allah's guidance in every matter. They have that much perfect confidence in them.
What exists now is about the objection as to why a reformist is an ordinary man without being an angel or capable of performing miracles.
وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسَۡٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ٤٣
16:43. “All the reformists who came before were ordinary people. They conveyed His guidance to their community. If you do not know the truth about this, ask those who have received the Scripture before.”
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ٤٤
16:44. All the Messages given by the reformists have clear evidence. O, Reformist! It is on this basis that We reveal this Qur’an which contains Scriptural advice. We bless you to make this advice clear to the people of the whole world. They need not blindly accept this advice (see 25:73) but rather study the benefits of following that advice and then accept it.
With the intention to keep hold of their superstitious beliefs, they refuse to accept this advice. Apart from that, they are also trying various maneuvers to prevent this guidance from growing among the people. And do they think that they can continue to do evil deeds forever? No.
أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ ٱلسَّئَِّاتِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ٤٥
16:45. Those who engage in evil deeds and do various maneuvers will lose all power and will be disgraced. The ill effects of their evil deeds come at a slow pace without their knowledge. Do they continue to do evil deeds in the hope that such disgrace or destruction will never occur?
أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ٤٦
16:46. Or do they think that while they are wandering here and there to carry out their maneuvers, they will not fall into the clutches of the law that Allah has ordained, “The consequences of human deeds”? Thus, it is true that they can never thwart the plans of Allah. (See also 6: 65 & 7: 182)
The governing body formed on the basis of His guidance is to protect the welfare of the people as a whole and to be merciful. But those who oppose this are trying to undermine social harmony so that this system does not succeed. So, this barrier has to be removed.
أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ٤٧
16:47. Are they not afraid that they would gradually lose their ruling power and be in a state of destruction? Let them know that the plans of your Rabbu are for the good of all.
The social system will develop as per the way they function. If he prays to Allah that all may live well and acts selfishly in his affairs (see 2:44), social ups and downs will occur and disorder will ensue. So, one day you will be caught up in that degeneration and you will perish.
أَوَ لَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ٤٨
16:48. Do they not explore the system of the world? They are all functioning very perfectly according to the command of Allah. Notice the shadow created by the sunlight. Notice how it tilts alternately right and left. With it, you can predict the time very accurately.
Just as those shadows do not change their position, so also you can never change the outcome of your actions. It is up to you to rectify the disorders caused by your evil deeds. It has the potential in this worldly life. How can this be done after death? Can only experience its consequences.
وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ٤٩
16:49. The reason is that all the living beings in the universe and the earth, and the natural forces in the universe, obey the command of Allah. None of them act in defiance of the command of Allah.
يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩٥٠
16:50. They all fear the Almighty Allah whose Supremacy is above all. So, they all act on whatever commands are given to them.
The word 'sujoodh' is used in both sentences. The Quran explains that word. That is, “sujoodh” is to act according to the command of Allah. All creation except man has been created to function in such a way that they all act according to their nature as ordained by Allah. (See 24:41) So there is no problem. Everything works beautifully. But He, having given free will to man, reveals His guidance through the reformists. If man obeys (sujoodh) only His command, his worldly life and future eternal life in the Hereafter will be as beautiful as Paradise.
And since all the creations of the universe function according to the command of Allah, they are yielding good results and evil impacts most accurately according to human actions.
۞وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ٥١
16:51. Don’t be under the impression of two different “Gods” theories - one “Allah” for the natural creations in the universe and the other “Allah” for humans. Allah says that just as all other creations in the world work in obedience to His command alone, so also should must come forward to live in obedience to the guidance of Allah alone. On the contrary, if you do not live like that, then be prepared for the consequences as per Allah’s ordinance.
وَلَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًاۚ أَفَغَيۡرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ٥٢
16:52. All creations in the universe and on earth are working to fulfill the plans of Allah. So, the consequences of your actions are (will be) according to the rules He has set. When that is the case, why do you abandon the guidance of Allah and follow other means?
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعۡمَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيۡهِ تَجَۡٔرُونَ٥٣
16:53. And have you created by yourself all the wealth that you have earned with your talent and hard work alone? Or didn’t you achieve them with the help of natural creations created by Allah? At the same time, if you are in trouble, don’t you seek the help of Allah's natural creations to get rid of it? (See 6:40-41)
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمۡ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ٥٤
16:54. Then, when you are free from suffering, a section of you, as in the past, follow the same wrong path of the clergy!
لِيَكۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡۚ فَتَمَتَّعُواْ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ٥٥
16:55. Such people can enjoy only for a short time. Then they will soon have to know about the pain that results from their wrongdoings.
So, what are the wrong things they do? Notice also what are the evil effects on society as a result. Instead of using their wealth for the betterment of society, they set aside a small portion for the imaginary deities they worship and keep the rest as their own. They think that doing so will sanctify all their possessions. This is causing inequalities in society. It is not conducive to a healthy society.
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ نَصِيبٗا مِّمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡۗ تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسَۡٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡتَرُونَ٥٦
16:56. So they set aside a small portion of their livelihoods for imaginary deities who know nothing. These are the ways they have created, not the ways prescribed by Allah. There is surely accountability for what all these people are doing.
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡبَنَٰتِ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ٥٧
16:57. Not only that but there is also no end to the fiction they talk about Allah. They will tell the story that Allah has daughters. But Allah is beyond all imagination. But for their part, they want to have only boys. (See also 43:16)
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجۡهُهُۥ مُسۡوَدّٗا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٞ٥٨
16:58. Yet when he comes to know that he has given birth to a baby girl, his face fades with anxiety. (43:17)
يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓۚ أَيُمۡسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمۡ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِي ٱلتُّرَابِۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ٥٩
16:59. He hides, embarrassed to take the news of his newborn baby girl to others. To that extent, the birth of a baby girl is a disgusting one for him. The reason is the confusion as to whether he will have to undergo lifelong trouble raising the child all the time or whether to kill the child once for all and bury it in the ground. What a tragedy that is!
These are the conditions of the social system they have created. When asked about this they say we have done no evil (16:28) Everything happens according to the will of Allah. They say that we are not responsible for the evils that take place here. (16:35) These are all reflections of the emerging social system based on superstition.
لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مَثَلُ ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡمَثَلُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ٦٠
16:60. This is the condition of any society which acts blindly without thinking at all about its future. Such people live for temporary pleasures only. Thus, such social degradation occurs. But the social system that is formed based on His guidance will have high qualities. Because that social system will function only on the basis of the wisdom of Allah, the Almighty.
In this society, men and women are all equal (see 33:35) and the unique qualities of Allah are developed in them, as they follow the guidance of Allah (see 2:138, 30:27) but the superior qualities or degradation among the people of the society is not something that can happen in the blink of an eye. All of these can occur gradually.
وَلَوۡ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِظُلۡمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيۡهَا مِن دَآبَّةٖ
16:61. Therefore, according to the rules prescribed by Allah, the grace timings for the consequences of human actions are fixed. Man's misdeeds do not have immediate consequences. Otherwise, there would be no living thing on this earth, if He had to punish immediately. Then, who will live on this earth after that? (See also 35:45)
وَلَٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَٔۡخِرُونَ سَاعَةٗ وَلَا يَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَ٦١
So, time is given for the effects of human actions to appear. Within that time man gets the opportunity to transform and live. (32:21) At the end of that time, the consequences will follow the rules prescribed by Allah. There will be no delay in that. Those effects do not appear before that time too.
This law also applies to the individual. Applies to society as well. Every action of man will have consequences. No one can change those effects. The Quran clearly states the consequences of any action. The consequences will follow accordingly. Therefore, if one wants to live safely from the evil, it becomes essential to accept the Qur’an which contains the guidance of Allah.
وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكۡرَهُونَۚ وَتَصِفُ أَلۡسِنَتُهُمُ ٱلۡكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفۡرَطُونَ٦٢
16:62. But there are no limits to myths in their talks about Allah. Whatever comes to their mind, they tell them to the people thinking that it would glorify Allah. They also say that there will be innumerable benefits in narrating it. The communities where such imaginary things are narrated will surely push them to hell.
That is, they tell the people through such propaganda that Allah alone can do everything. Nothing will happen beyond Him. There is nothing we can do. Everything is His act. No matter how hard you try, you will only get what is allotted to you in your fate by Him. Everything is already written in the destiny of our heads. We should not live for this world. Our real life is life after death. That is what we must strive for and so on
If such thoughts are sown in the minds of the people, there will be no chance of progress and will decline human labor. So, he has to live in a very backward position on the world stage. But the Quran says that the dwellers of Paradise are the ones who make the most progress through the path of guidance. (See 56:10)
تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ٦٣
16:63. O, Reformist! We have sent messengers before you to guide all communities. World history bears witness to Our claim. But the selfish leaders who lived in that community made their misdeeds glorious to the people. Like them, modern-day people think that the clergies are right. So, they go unaware of the evil consequences of their wrongdoing.
وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ٦٤
16:64. If you tell them about this, they will argue with you. So, give them His guidance and explain that these are all about eliminating differences of enmity between them and also the benefits they would get by accepting and following them. These advices are especially helpful to those who accept and live by Allah's guidance.
وَٱللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَحۡيَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَآۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَسۡمَعُونَ٦٥
16:65. Just as Allah sends down rain from the sky, thereby reviving the lifeless earth and making it glorious, He shows the right path through this Qur'an to revitalize the living community, to live better with all the resources. In this way, the people who listen to the call of Allah will find the proof in it.
وَإِنَّ لَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ لَعِبۡرَةٗۖ نُّسۡقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ فَرۡثٖ وَدَمٖ لَّبَنًا خَالِصٗا سَآئِغٗا لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ٦٦
16:66. Likewise consider the cattle that Allah has created. You will find many lessons in them too. The food they eat is digested in the stomach and split down into blood and dung. Between these two, pure milk is formed for drinking.
Similarly, there will be good and bad people in society. If the nutrients of His guidance are infused into them, they can produce pure fruitful genius, just as pure milk is produced. As milk is understood to be beneficial to people from all walks of life, these faithful philosophers will come forward to highlight the lives of people from all walks of life.
وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ ٱلنَّخِيلِ وَٱلۡأَعۡنَٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنۡهُ سَكَرٗا وَرِزۡقًا حَسَنًاۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ٦٧
16:67. And take the examples of the fruits of His creations, such as the palm and the grape. Intoxicating alcohol is also produced with them. They are also a good source of healthy foods and drinks. Of course, people who think about this will get a lot of evidence.
That is, if the fruits are properly preserved and used in time, they will contribute to the well-being of the people. If left unmanaged, they will decay and lose their nutrition. Only alcoholic beverages can be made with that rot. Or you may have to throw them in the trash. In the same way, if the children born in the world are well nurtured and nurtured regularly in the guidance of Allah, they will develop into benefactors of society. If they are left to grow up without doing anything like that and are not given any education in time, they will become evildoers in society. Then, you have to throw them in the trash of prison or hell.
وَأَوۡحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلنَّحۡلِ أَنِ ٱتَّخِذِي مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتٗا وَمِنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعۡرِشُونَ٦٨
16:68. Likewise in the creations of Allah, consider other creatures other than the human being. Take the bee for example. The intrinsic senses are given within it according to the canon of Allah. So, they set up hives in the mountains, trees, and tall buildings to collect honey.
ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ فَٱسۡلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلٗاۚ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٞ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٞ لِّلنَّاسِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ٦٩
16:69. Then as per the law of Allah, the nectar from all kinds of fruits and flowers is easily absorbed and collected in that hive. Thus, the absorbed honey goes into its stomach and turns into many colors. That is why honey comes out in many colors. This honey is used to treat various ailments of people. Evidence of this is available to only those people who think and act.
1. In this text it is said that “Wahi” was sent to the bee. That is to say, the guidelines called, “Wahi” in which all other creations except man function according to their nature. They all live accordingly. It means: Where should they live? Where does their food lie? How to reproduce? By whom do the dangers come? How to be safe from that danger? No one teaches such things to those creatures. (Ref. 24:41)
2. But it is not so in the case of man. When Man is in childhood, there is no wisdom in knowing what is good. Which is worse? He will grow according to the environments he lives in. His thinking will grow in the same way. (Read our Book: Allah and The Man for an explanation) He will speak the same language as those around him. He will follow the culture of the people around him.
3. In short, all creatures other than man, live under the direct control of Allah. So, they are somehow beneficial to the people of the world. If man accepts the teachings of Allah and lives according to them, he too will act in a way that benefits the people of the world. It would also make sense for him to be born human.
4. Just as bees put their hard-earned honey into the hive, so man adds the wealth he has earned over and above to his needs in public funds and uses it for the benefit of all sections of the population to create a balanced society. In such societies, there will be givers. But takers will not be.
5. And if the honey combs are picked up and distributed on time. they will benefit the people. Otherwise, the bees will drink the honey and fly away. In the same way, if man accumulates wealth for himself, it will not benefit the national progress, and such wealth will go astray and lead to destruction.
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمۡۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرۡذَلِ ٱلۡعُمُرِ لِكَيۡ لَا يَعۡلَمَ بَعۡدَ عِلۡمٖ شَيًۡٔاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٞ قَدِيرٞ٧٠
16:70. And in the matter of the physical life of man, life and death occur as in other creations. He is born according to the law of creation of Allah. Then his life comes to an end. Although he is educated, he becomes very weak and ignorant in his old age. (See also - 22:5) If you pay attention, you will know to what extent the plans of Allah are based on wisdom and structure.
Human life passes many stages such as childhood, adolescence, and old age. Therefore, children and the elderly are less likely to earn a living. Adolescents are more likely to earn.
وَٱللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعۡضَكُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ فِي ٱلرِّزۡقِۚ فَمَا ٱلَّذِينَ فُضِّلُواْ بِرَآدِّي رِزۡقِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌۚ أَفَبِنِعۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَجۡحَدُونَ٧١
16:71. Thus, in the matter of livelihood in society, some would be superior to others. However, if taken as a family, no one distinguishes between the earner and the non-earner. The needs of young children and the elderly are fulfilled whether they earn it or not. You want everyone to have an equal share in the family income.
Similarly, if we take a community or a country, there will be a variety of businesses and industries. There will be experts in every profession. Each of them will have unique features. Only when they are all integrated, can a society be formed. There shall be no ups and downs. Therefore, the constitution or the social system must find a way to include the basic needs of all sections of the population equitably. Otherwise, if you act in a divisive manner, it means that you are not grateful to Allah.
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةٗ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ أَفَبِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ يُؤۡمِنُونَ وَبِنِعۡمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمۡ يَكۡفُرُونَ٧٢
16:72. And look at the creation of Allah in pairs, from among yourselves. With it, you have children and offspring as grandchildren. Everyone's co-operation is needed to make your families pleasant. You share family responsibilities equally. So, you are fulfilling their basic needs evenly. But you are abusing the blessings of Allah by discriminating in the interest of the people of the country.
Is this correct? That is to say, a country will be an excellent one if it has a government that treats all its people as members of the same family and treats them all equally. This is the advice of Allah.
This means that none of the livelihoods available to you are through self-made arrangements. Only when it rains from the sky, the boundless minerals buried in the earth, the heat of the sun, and the power of the wind all work together, you can work and earn a living. These are the provisions of Allah. So, by the command of Allah, you should use them equally for all the people of the community.
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمۡلِكُ لَهُمۡ رِزۡقٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ شَيۡٔٗا وَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ٧٣
16:73. But those who do not accept Allah’s guidance, leave behind His commandments and set up imaginary gods who are not at all fit to create anything, and follow other ways. Ask them, “Are those imaginary gods feeding you from the galaxies and the earth?”
As soon as they hear this, they will cry out, “If Allah had willed, everyone would have been rich. So, He created the poor and the rich.” What they have created is considered to be Allah’s Will.
فَلَا تَضۡرِبُواْ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ٧٤
16:74. But you should never compare such false examples with Allah. Remember that Allah knows everything which you do not know. If you think deeply, you will understand the truth.
۞ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبۡدٗا مَّمۡلُوكٗا لَّا يَقۡدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَمَن رَّزَقۡنَٰهُ مِنَّا رِزۡقًا حَسَنٗا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنۡهُ سِرّٗا وَجَهۡرًاۖ هَلۡ يَسۡتَوُۥنَۚ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ٧٥
16:75. If you want to give examples, you can give the examples given by Allah. One lives as a poor slave. He cannot act arbitrarily. There is another. He has all the facilities. He helps by giving indirectly and openly from them to others. Think about it yourself. Are these two equal? Does not the second type glorify the plans of Allah? But most people are not aware of this fact.
Is Allah, the Owner of all creation in the world, better, or are the imaginary gods who seek Allah's help to fulfill their needs better? Are these two equal? Do you value someone who is generous or the one who is dependent on others?
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا رَّجُلَيۡنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبۡكَمُ لَا يَقۡدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوۡلَىٰهُ أَيۡنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأۡتِ بِخَيۡرٍ هَلۡ يَسۡتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ٧٦
16:76. And consider another example that Allah narrates. One is dumb, who has no talent. He is a great burden to his master. He is not all in a position to bring him any benefit wherever he is sent. The other is instructing himself to be on the right path, to do justice to others, and to do good deeds. Are these two equal?
That is, those who are addicted to superstition cannot open their mouth against the injustices that are taking place in the world. Can do no good to the world. Rather only those who are qualified to think and act on anything can add benefits to the country and the world. All of these facts do not reach their perceptions. Therefore, it is the main duty of everyone to spread the message of revelation to the people and to create awareness. Let them be illustrated by such examples.
وَلِلَّهِ غَيۡبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَآ أَمۡرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمۡحِ ٱلۡبَصَرِ أَوۡ هُوَ أَقۡرَبُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ٧٧
16:77. Allah is fully aware of all that is hidden in the universe and the earth. And Allah knows the timings of when the consequences of human deeds will come into force. When that happens, it will look as if everything is finished in the blink of an eye. All of Allah's projects will be carried out for a fixed period. Thus, Allah has set the functions and criteria of all creation.
We can illustrate this with an example.
وَٱللَّهُ أَخۡرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡٔٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفِۡٔدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ٧٨
16:78. You may not know the development of the fetus in the mother's womb at an early stage. You will be able to know when it has grown according to its fixed duration. Following that, it grows and the baby is born. He has given you the sense of hearing, the sense of sight, and the ability to think so that you can live better and walk in faithfulness to Allah.
As such no one knows at an early stage about the consequences of the abusive practices going on in societies. Although they have eyesight, hearing, and thinking ability, they do not have the capacity to perceive it. This fact is revealed through His guidance. It is in your best interest to accept that guidance and act accordingly. Otherwise, you can only feel those effects after they have appeared. It would have been too late then. Just as you cannot prevent the birth of a child, you cannot prevent those effects.
أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٖ فِي جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ٧٩
16:79. Do you not observe the birds spreading their wings in the skies, as per the law of Allah? It is by the system of Allah to make them fly in the sky! Indeed, that are signs for a people who obey Allah.
When birds fly in the sky, the forces of nature carry them. As well as when we are driving a two-wheeler fast, the forces of nature also help. So, we can move fast in a steep position. Thus, all living beings and human beings can live better only with the help of energies prevalent and the might of Allah is spread over the earth and the galaxies. Man can live better as a free bird if he lives in obedience to the guidance of Allah, just as other creatures live in obedience to Allah.
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۢ بُيُوتِكُمۡ سَكَنٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ بُيُوتٗا تَسۡتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوۡمَ ظَعۡنِكُمۡ
16:80. And Allah has arranged the required materials from all sides to build comfortable houses for you to stay in. Not only this, with the help of cattle skins you could move to other towns and build temporary tents. You also made clothes from the fur of goats, sheep, and camels. They are comfortable to wear in winter.
وَيَوۡمَ إِقَامَتِكُمۡ وَمِنۡ أَصۡوَافِهَا وَأَوۡبَارِهَا وَأَشۡعَارِهَآ أَثَٰثٗا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٖ٨٠
When you were living as nomads, you received from Allah all of these living facilities. Not any of them were created by yourself. Not only that but there was a time when it was not convenient for you to build even tents.
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَٰلٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ أَكۡنَٰنٗا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمۡ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ ٱلۡحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأۡسَكُمۡۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعۡمَتَهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡلِمُونَ٨١
16:81. It is Allah Who created the great trees that gave shade. With them, you could protect yourself from the heat of the sun and live comfortably. There are also caves in the mountains. They were also convenient for you to live in. Not only that, but Allah has also made arrangements for you to look beautiful, (see 7:26) to be safe from the heat of the sun, to make clothes and armor to be safe in battle. All of these are blessings from Allah that help you live better.
It is the advice of Allah that you should use all these and live together in unity. (See 13:21 & 25) The man also promised to live according to it.
فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ٨٢
16:82. But even after clearly explaining to them the guidance of Allah, and if they do not heed your advice, you need not worry about it. It is incumbent upon you only to guide them.
يَعۡرِفُونَ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكۡثَرُهُمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ٨٣
16:83. They refused to obey His command, even though they realized that all the blessings they have received are from Allah. Most of them opposed it.
This is because they do not know how severe the consequences of their wrongdoing will be. (see 16:77) So they continue to indulge in evil deeds. When the regime is formed according to Allah's guidance, they will be questioned about what they did.
وَيَوۡمَ نَبۡعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيدٗا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤۡذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ٨٤
16:84. At such a time they will come from every community to testify against them. (See 16:89,4:41) These witnesses will also be those who speak in support of Allah's rule. Therefore, the testimonies of those who act against the rule of law will not be accepted. And they cannot escape punishment.
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ٨٥
16:85. And those who have committed unjust acts will beg to have their punishment lessened because they cannot bear its severity. But none of their pleas will have any effect. Their punishment will not be reduced. There will be no one to help them.
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ شُرَكَآءَهُمۡ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِكَۖ فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ إِلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ إِنَّكُمۡ لَكَٰذِبُونَ٨٦
16:86. And if you happen to see them you will find them saying, “O, Our Rabbu! These are what we used to worship as gods, leaving you.” At that time none of those imaginary gods would speak. The situations will prove that they are all lies.
وَأَلۡقَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلسَّلَمَۖ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفۡتَرُونَ٨٧
16:87. All those who have done injustice previously will surrender, once His regime is established. All their efforts and hard work would go in vain.
All these things will take place in this world when the reign of Allah takes place. These things will happen after their death in the absence of such rule.
ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ زِدۡنَٰهُمۡ عَذَابٗا فَوۡقَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يُفۡسِدُونَ٨٨
16:88. Those who refuse to accept the guidance of Allah, will hinder establishment of Allah’s rules, and cause chaos in the country resulting many sufferings according to the law of “consequences of human deeds”.
وَيَوۡمَ نَبۡعَثُ فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ شَهِيدًا عَلَيۡهِم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ وَجِئۡنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ
16:89. And at the time, when the system of social order is formed under Our guidance, We will call witnesses from each community to bear witness against the wicked. The witnesses will say, “The Reformist explained to us everything that is revealed in the Book with clear evidence.”
وَنَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ تِبۡيَٰنٗا لِّكُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٗ وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ٨٩
O, Reformist! You will also be taken as a witness against all of them for having explained the guidance, which clarifies everything, a source or right path, glad tidings to those who submit before it.
Because those who engage in anti-social activities will call themselves innocent and know nothing. They will say that if we had received His guidance, we too would have been guided to the right path. But ignorance is not the way to escape punishment (see 17:15) (Ignorance of Law is no excuse)
۞إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَيَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ وَٱلۡبَغۡيِۚ يَعِظُكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ٩٠
16:90. Know all the main features of His commandment that the reformists conveyed to their community.
1) You have to uphold the rule of law in society. Render justice according to the law of Allah. That verdict, even if it is against your community, justice should not be left out. (See 5: 8)
2) You need to create and maintain social equality. Social cohesion can only be achieved by eliminating the differences between the haves and have nots.
3) Start such social reforms from close relatives. Fulfill their needs. Then gradually expand it to meet the needs of society as a whole.
4) Make sure that indecent and evil acts do not take place in society. Whether they occur openly or secretly. (see 7:33).
5) These are the advices given to you so that you do not transgress the limits prescribed by Allah.
6) The purpose of giving this advice is to take you all to high ranks by following it.
وَأَوۡفُواْ بِعَهۡدِ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا عَٰهَدتُّمۡ وَلَا تَنقُضُواْ ٱلۡأَيۡمَٰنَ بَعۡدَ تَوۡكِيدِهَا وَقَدۡ جَعَلۡتُمُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَفِيلًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ٩١
16:91. (7) Never breach the promise you made to Allah (see 9:111). On that basis, keep your promise to the people, bearing witness to Allah. Do not forget that Allah knows best whatever you do.
وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّتِي نَقَضَتۡ غَزۡلَهَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَٰثٗا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيۡمَٰنَكُمۡ دَخَلَۢا بَيۡنَكُمۡ
16:92. Do not become like the woman who worked very hard to spin the yarn and later on, cut it into pieces by herself. That is to say, after hard work and forming social cohesion, if you act selfishly without keeping your promise to the people, there will be opposition and divisions in society and society will be torn to pieces.
أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِيَ أَرۡبَىٰ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍۚ إِنَّمَا يَبۡلُوكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦۚ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ مَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ٩٢
And do not deceive the people by issuing unnecessary orders in the fear that the minorities in society will overpower the majority. None of this is conducive to social harmony. What matters is how you behave. And do not forget that you are always under watch by Allah. If you act against His instructions, be sure that the day the consequences of your actions will occur.
وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَلَٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَلَتُسَۡٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ٩٣
16:93. If Allah had created man to live according to His Laws by force like all other living beings, all human beings would have lived in harmony. But that is not the plan of Allah. It is His Will: To give man complete freedom, to guide him through the reformists, leave it to his choice to accept them to live better or to refuse it to go astray. So, you will be held liable for all your activities.
وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَكُمۡ دَخَلَۢا بَيۡنَكُمۡ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمُۢ بَعۡدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُواْ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمۡ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَكُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ٩٤
16:94. So we reiterate. Do not make the promises you make to the people and the oaths of truth as a shield to deceive the people. Do not betray the trust and disrupt the unity after you all unite and form a government. Thus, if you do not fulfill the promises given to Allah, you will all suffer severe torment.
وَلَا تَشۡتَرُواْ بِعَهۡدِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلًاۚ إِنَّمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ٩٥
16:95. And do not disregard the oaths of allegiance that you have sworn to abide by the laws of Allah for meager benefits. If you know the benefits of Allah's system, you would never do so.
مَا عِندَكُمۡ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٖۗ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓاْ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ٩٦
16:96. Yet no matter how much wealth you have selfishly acquired, they are not going to stay with you forever. You too are not going to live forever in this world. But all the benefits of Allah's rule are lasting. So those who persevere and work tirelessly under the guidance of Allah will reap many benefits for their good deeds.
مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَلَنُحۡيِيَنَّهُۥ حَيَوٰةٗ طَيِّبَةٗۖ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ٩٧
16:97. Whoever of you, male or female, who accepts the guidance of Allah and does good deeds according to it, will have a prosperous life. Not only that, they will get various benefits as a result of the good deeds they have done.
This shows that men and women are equal under the law of Allah.
فَإِذَا قَرَأۡتَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ٩٨
16:98. So, when you come forward to act in the way as shown by the Qur’an which contains His guidance, you may have to face the anti-social forces. You have to face them all and progress in your project very seriously according to Qur’an.
إِنَّهُۥ لَيۡسَ لَهُۥ سُلۡطَٰنٌ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ٩٩
16:99. So, any society which is completely submissive to the guidance of Allah can control the anti-social forces there. In such a society the domination of evil forces will not have any effect.
إِنَّمَا سُلۡطَٰنُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوۡنَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِهِۦ مُشۡرِكُونَ١٠٠
16:100. On the contrary, any society that acts in the way of Satanic desires will surely act against the guidance of Allah. So, there will be all sorts of superstitions and evil deeds going on.
Scholars of the previous Scriptures ask, “When there are already Scriptures, what is the necessity for this new Scripture, Al Qur’an.?” They also ask why some commandments issued in this new scripture are different from the command given in the previous scripture. The reason is that they have unilaterally made changes in the Vedas over time. (See 2:106)
وَإِذَا بَدَّلۡنَآ ءَايَةٗ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٖ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفۡتَرِۢۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ١٠١
16:101. So, they are corrected and restored to the changes they have made in their Scriptures. So, they mistakenly say that this reformist has changed the scripture according to his will. Allah knows best what kind of legal plans should be announced at what times. However, most of them are not aware of this fact. (2:106)
قُلۡ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ ٱلۡقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهُدٗى وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ١٠٢
16:102. “This Quran is not written by the Messenger of Allah on his own. But is bestowed through Jibreel, who acts as the system of communication (see 2:97), without any slightest deviation, thereby reassuring those who accept Allah's guidance and showing them the benefits of good deeds accordingly”. Explain this fact to them.
وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّهُمۡ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٞۗ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِي يُلۡحِدُونَ إِلَيۡهِ أَعۡجَمِيّٞ وَهَٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيّٞ مُّبِينٌ١٠٣
16:103. And Allah knows what they say, “A man comes to him and teaches him.” The person who talks like this does not even think of being alien without knowing the Arabic language. And they do not care about what is said in it and do not know that such advices cannot be given by any individual by himself.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بَِٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَهۡدِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ١٠٤
16:104. So, the truth is that those who do not want to accept the guidance of Allah will never get guidance from Allah. Thus, they go astray and suffer painful torments.
إِنَّمَا يَفۡتَرِي ٱلۡكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بَِٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰذِبُونَ١٠٥
16:105. And what all they say is that the reformist is deceitful. But the fact is that they are reluctant to accept His guidance. Instead of directly saying that they are not prepared to accept His guidance, they are talking like this indirectly. So, they only are liars.
مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنۡ أُكۡرِهَ وَقَلۡبُهُۥ مُطۡمَئِنُّۢ بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلۡكُفۡرِ صَدۡرٗا فَعَلَيۡهِمۡ غَضَبٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ١٠٦
16:106. Now it is about those who, after accepting His guidance, act against it. If they do not follow His guidance even after knowing the benefits that will result from it, they will suffer severely. However, it is something different if they act against it under some pressure. It's not a big sin.
HAYATH-U-DHUNIYA: Some of the activities will bring temporary happiness, but can affect future life. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, prostitution, etc. give temporary pleasures. But they will have a huge impact on their future life. Not only that, but social degradation will also occur. The Quran mentions such acts as ‘Hayat-u-Dhunya’. That is actions that can only yield temporary benefits.
‘HAYATHUL AAQIRA’ means future sustainable life. Since human life continues even after death, the life that continues after death is also called ‘Hayatul Akhira’ or ‘Day of Resurrection.’ Therefore, in the interest of the future sustainable benefits, such temporary pleasures should be avoided.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا عَلَى ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ١٠٧
16:107. Those who accept His guidance will avoid such activities that bring temporary happiness only and that which affects future sustainable life. If they act against Our guidance, they will be on the list of deviators. Allah does not guide such people to the right path.
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ وَسَمۡعِهِمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰفِلُونَ١٠٨
16:108. Because over time, there will be blockades in their hearts, ears, and eyes, as per the laws of Allah. Then no matter how much you explain about the damage caused by evil deeds, they will remain indifferent.
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ١٠٩
16:109. Such people will be the biggest losers in the future stable life.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا فُتِنُواْ ثُمَّ جَٰهَدُواْ وَصَبَرُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ١١٠
16:110. On the contrary, those who act in the way shown by Allah will dedicate themselves fully and work tirelessly with determination to face adversity and distress. And they do not hesitate to leave home town or country if necessary. Such people will receive help and good results from Allah. Verily the guidance of Allah is gracious enough to consider the safety of people on all sides.
۞يَوۡمَ تَأۡتِي كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفۡسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ مَّا عَمِلَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ١١١
16:111. So, as already stated in 16:10, at the time when the consequences of his deeds will appear, the evil deeds he commits will be sufficient to inflict the corresponding punishment. No one can argue against it. At the same time, none of them will face injustice from Allah. They will be punished according to what they did.
What is said to the individual applies to society as well. Whether it is good deeds or evil deeds the community will be rewarded This tragedy can be illustrated by an example.
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا قَرۡيَةٗ كَانَتۡ ءَامِنَةٗ مُّطۡمَئِنَّةٗ يَأۡتِيهَا رِزۡقُهَا رَغَدٗا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ فَكَفَرَتۡ بِأَنۡعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلۡجُوعِ وَٱلۡخَوۡفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ١١٢
16:112. In a town, everyone lived in peace without fear. There, they received bounty of food and livelihood. But in due course of time, they failed to live in obedience to the command of Allah. That is, people from all walks of life began to cheat each other on their livelihoods. So, the community was surrounded by the horrors of famine and the fear of dangers posed by the affected people. Thus, the community that lived pleasantly became degenerated in miseries.
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ وَهُمۡ ظَٰلِمُونَ١١٣
16:113. A reformist from Allah came to them to correct such inequalities and degenerations. He advised the people to correct society. He warned of the dire consequences of their wrongdoing. But those unjust people did not accept his advice. So, they suffered a lot because of what they had done wrong.
فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلٗا طَيِّبٗا وَٱشۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ١١٤
16:114. O followers of Allah’s guidance! What do you do learn from the example? Do not act unjustly. Follow the system of livelihood distribution fairly as per the advice of Allah and receive them for your share. Thus, obey the command of Allah and walk in faith and gratitude.
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦۖ
16:115. And do not forbid anything other than what Allah has forbidden. There are only four things that are banned in terms of food. Spontaneous carcasses, splattered blood, pork, and those slaughtered in the name of other than Allah.
فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ١١٥
However, there is nothing wrong with eating these, if you are stuck in an unavoidable predicament. One must act according to the respective situation. There should be no violation of the limit. The truth is that the guidance of Allah is gracious enough to consider the safety of people on all sides.
وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلۡسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلۡكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٞ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٞ لِّتَفۡتَرُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ لَا يُفۡلِحُونَ١١٦
16:116. At the same time keep one thing in your mind. Do not proclaim that these are permitted and these things are prohibited on your accord. Do not use His name to lie that this is what Allah says. Those who fabricate in the name of Allah like this will never succeed in their project.
مَتَٰعٞ قَلِيلٞ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ١١٧
16:117. Those who plot in the name of Allah like this can enjoy only a short time. But in the end, their lives will be miserable.
وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمۡنَا مَا قَصَصۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَمَا ظَلَمۡنَٰهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ١١٨
16:118. This is how the Jews acted in ancient times. As we have already announced in 6:146 We had banned certain food items for some time for certain reasons. But they continued them and forbade many things and thus wronged themselves. Allah never did any unjust to them.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُواْ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٖ ثُمَّ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصۡلَحُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ١١٩
16:119. You may have made such mistakes out of ignorance until now. Now His guidance has come. So, Allah forgives the mistakes committed in ignorance (see 4:17). But you should avoid those mistakes immediately accept the guidance of Allah and correct yourself accordingly. Even after all this, your life will be safer if you change your lifestyle. Because Allah, Who created such a project, is the Most Merciful.
But the Jews claim to follow their patriarch, Ibrahim Nabi.
إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةٗ قَانِتٗا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفٗا وَلَمۡ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ١٢٠
16:120. But Reformist Ibrahim Nabi never acted against the guidance of Allah. He lived in complete obedience to Allah. In short, he has submitted himself to the guidance as a whole.
شَاكِرٗا لِّأَنۡعُمِهِۚ ٱجۡتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ١٢١
16:121. He used the blessings of Allah which he had received in the way He showed and acted with faith and gratitude to Him. That is why he was selected by Allah for the title of “Leader of the People of the World”. (See 2:124) And he was guided in all things and he acted accordingly. Follow the way he followed. (See 6:161)
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ١٢٢
16:122. So, he got the highest status in worldly life according to the law of Allah. He will hold a better position in life Hereafter.
ثُمَّ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعۡ مِلَّةَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفٗاۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ١٢٣
16:123. This is the status of Reformists! Follow the same as reformist Ibrahim did when he set up a people's forum called Millath. He never followed anything other than Allah’s guidance.
إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبۡتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ١٢٤
16:124. But the Jews claim that they are following the same path as Reformist Ibrahim Nabi. And everyone is arguing with each other about the ruin of the fishermen who were involved in the offense. (See 2:65, 4:47, 4:154, 7: 163) At the time of the consequences of their evil deeds, the same fate befell the fishermen. It seems, only when the consequences befall, these facts will be clear to these people!
ٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ وَٱلۡمَوۡعِظَةِ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِۖ وَجَٰدِلۡهُم بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ١٢٥
16:125. So, ask the people to stop worrying about them and invite them to follow the guidance of Allah, with wisdom and beautiful advices! Even if you happen to argue with them, argue in a beautiful way. As Allah is fully aware of who goes astray? And who is on the right path? Do not forget that Allah knows everything.
وَإِنۡ عَاقَبۡتُمۡ فَعَاقِبُواْ بِمِثۡلِ مَا عُوقِبۡتُم بِهِۦۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرۡتُمۡ لَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ١٢٦
16:126. O followers of the guidance of Allah! If you intend to suppress your enemies, chase them as far as they have crossed the border. Even if you patiently stay within your boundaries, it will still be good for you.
Because it is not proper for a man to act on the basis of enmity. It is a struggle between two different ideologies. So, killing and amassing human beings is not the purpose of war.
وَٱصۡبِرۡ وَمَا صَبۡرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِۚ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا تَكُ فِي ضَيۡقٖ مِّمَّا يَمۡكُرُونَ١٢٧
16:127. It is best that you act without compromising on any of Our principles. Act only as per the guidance of Allah. Without doing so, you cannot achieve anything in this world. And do not worry about the intricacies made by the enemies against you. Do not let your mind be in crisis for that.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ١٢٨
16:128. Be content that Allah's help is surely available to those who work under the guidance of Allah and do beautiful community services.
